MikeMike
All of a sudden I am getting this error on my UPS shipping: Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No address associated with hostname in /home/virtual/site5/fst/var/www/html/includes/classes/http_client.php on line 319 Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to www.ups.com:80 in /home/virtual/site5/fst/var/www/html/includes/classes/http_client.php on line 319 It have worked for a loong time and I am not aware of any server changes. The above error is for a store with the regular UPS module. On another store with the XML module I am getting this error: Rating and Service 1.0001 0 An unknown error occured while attempting to contact the UPS gateway : Have there been any changes from UPS today or yesterday or what can cause this to happen? Jan Zonjee
On another store with the XML module I am getting this error: Have there been any changes from UPS today or yesterday or what can cause this to happen? In the recent versions of UPS XML you can get an email with the error or log those errors. Could have come handy in this case. There have been a few reported instances of DNS trouble with UPS (could not resolve host name). It seems UPS is also using Akamai servers, no idea if it is has any relation to the current problem you see. They are up: ping www.ups.com PING www.ups.com.akadns.net (84.53.149.243): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 84.53.149.243: icmp_seq=0 ttl=57 time=11.500 ms
MikeMike
It was something with my server. I also got an error from Paypal ipn and when I tried pinging sites from ssh I could only do it by IP, not domain name. I got a managed dedicated so my host took care of it.
