Caldera Mike Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 hi, i've done some searching but cant find anything, so please excuse me if this has been asked before... Can i use osCommerce as a means of displaying products only, my client does not require prices or baskets etc. Is this possible? Thanks, Mike. :)
Guest Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 If nothing else you could just put $0 for the price and disable all payment modules, thereby rendering the checkout and payment system useless.

ddp Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 will it still show the checkout links etc? Yes it will. You will need to hack the code and remove the buy now buttons and the shopping cart buttons. I just saw a site posted on the feedback forum about this that was advertising lighting see: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...=223703&hl= Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!! You did do a backup? eh?

Gil_e_n Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I have the option to check out disabled on my live site and on parts of my very-soon-to-be-live-site (finally). I used the Call for Pricing payment module to remove the add to cart/buy now buttons. (At least, I'm almost sure that's what I used.). After that, I'd suggest deleting all the parts of the site that have to do with purchasing, if you're never going to use it. Always BACK UP your files and your database before making any changes.
