littleneo
Hi all, I crawled the forums and contribs since yesterday before asking here... I can't find a way to add a field, like the commentaries one, in the checkout process (shipping method ?), giving the possibility to the customer to send a little message to the receiver of the package (gift note). How can I do this please ? Thank you very much.

I have installed this contrib yet but it's for product's attributes. What I want is a solution to have, at the checkout process, the possibility for the customer to write a message for the receiver like "I hope you'll like this gift, Happy Birthday !". By the way, I will add the option to make a letter with the package saying "this package is a gift from NAME SURNAME who want to say you this message : "..." instead of the invoice. Thx

littleneo
Hi all, just, how can I double the field of commentaries at the end of the order to change its name to "gift's message" ? Thx Hi all, as I can't find the soluce, I try to "double" the "comments" field who is in the checkout_shipping and checkout_payment pages and test the reacts (I create, in the database, a field "message" to meet the requirements). on shipping and payment, no problems, just copying the infos containing comments and duplicating the entire code with "message" instead of comments. I'll maintain you informed and asking your help plz...
jasonabc
OSC comes with this feature already. The comments box appears on the first part of the checkout page and is carried over right through the process. You don't need to duplicate it - that's what it's there for. Just tell people on your site to insert a message into this box when they check out. Like : "I need this before this date" or "The code for the door is 1234" ? More than that, I want to have the opportunity to split the commentaries - when we inform the customer about status of the order it's the same field used - and the message... By this way, the message can be written automatically on a sheet with the delivery, and not the informations who are for the customer, not for the receiver... Searching all the files with comments in there and doubled the code, replacing the second with "message" instead of "comments". Don't forget to add the field message in table order_status_history (and holding_order_status_history if you have this contrib installed).
