Ok so i'm totally new to this, and to php coding, i used to do a lot of html coding but i'm a lil rusty, i've just started a new job and the guy who previsouly worked on the website has left, so now i'm left to edit and make all the changes to the website.

ok so i've down some of the work to the site, and i'm still trying to get my head around the file structure of the website.

ok what i'd currently like to to know at the moment is about contribs, how can i tell what ones are installed and and how do i install them.

one mentioned adding code to the mySQl server, now i don't know where to find that and how to add to it, and now one who i work with at the moment has any idea atall about the website.

So any help with that would be a great start, and then i'll ask some more questions from there.

Thanks,

Rob

Thanks for the offer mate, but i'm really looking at learning how to do it all myself, just need someone help me get my feet till i get my head around it all.

If i can't get my head around it all soon enough and found out what i need to do, to keep my boss happy i might still take you up on the offer, but till then i wanna try for myself, so anyhelp would still be greatly appreciated

Installing contributions is easy stuff. Some are larger than others obviously. Usually a contribution consists of new files (which can just be copied straight up to your store), existing files that have been edited (so use a find and compare program (ExamDiff is a good one) to see what has been added/changed etc in each file), or a mixture of both.

Sometimes there is a SQL file to run on your database. This can be done thru the SQL tab in PhpMyAdmin.

Installation instructions are always included in contributions.
