SSL in admin does not work

I have looked at other posts and tried what was suggested. It just goes wrong.

 

Can anyone spot any simple errors here?

SSL in admin doesn't work? Then you need to go to your catalog/admin/includes/configure.php file and alter that. Around line 13, it should look something like:

And that's assuming that you have your SSL set to http://www.yoursite.com, not http://yoursite.com (without the www). The main thing is to set the SSL to "true" in your catalog/admin/includes/configure.php file.

I'm having the same problem... And I think I have it set right... Maybe I missed somehing?

Are you sure your SSL was boughten and installed correctly onto your server? Are you sure it was for http://www.yourdomain.com and not http://yourdomain.com?

Yes and Yes. When I purchased the certificate it was purchased for https://www.mywebsite.com This certificate has been installed and running for over 2 years now. I'm just switching to the osCommerce shopping cart from the one I originally wrote myself for the website.

My certificate is by GeoTrust. I've sent you a link to my site through a PM so you can see that it works fine.

 

It should be noted that this problem is specific to the admin area only. The SSL certificate works fine on the customer end.

Okay, look. It's EASY. Follow these steps. On catalog/admin/includes/configure.php, make it like this:

Yes, add the "S" in there for each one.

 

Now when you initially log onto your admin, it will not look secure with the http://, but click on ANY link in your admin, and you'll see it will prompt you to type in your login and password again, and then the https:// will show up. Let me know if it works (it will),
