Adham Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Hello there everyone, A few years ago we re-vamped our online watch store at http://www.findwatches.co.uk and received some good feedback from the forum members that helped us to tweak the store to make it that little bit better. So, we thought that as we have finally managed to re-vamp both our online stores again ( FindJewellery and FindWatches ), we thought that we would put our heads on the block again and ask you all what those in the know thought of our new designs and layout. Again, our main drive at the moment is improving conversion rates through site clarity and usability - although all constructive criticism / observations are welcome. Many thanks, in advance. Adam
shingooo Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Hi Adam, Your site does really look awesome. The colour scheme and creative imagery offers a very professional look along with an easy navigational menu. Every page looks well laid out in a logical format and is very clear which is always good. I would like to ask a question if I may. How did you manage to create the filter system for the 'ladies watches' link, and then have the drop down menu to filter further by manufacturer? I am trying to do a similar thing for my client's site and it is driving me nuts! Did you use a contribution for this? Your help is much appreciated. Michael
chooch Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 It is a very well laid out site, very different therefore more appreciated. I think the square frame effect is spot on and so are the header and footer. Maybe you should remove the 'click her eto enlarge images' in the product info for pages that have no extra images? I also think there is much potential for the site, good luck. Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH

Michael This is basically a brutal hack of the advanced search page. We began by adding a drop down menu for manufacturers and prices and used the same format for the advanced search to pass the info through the URL (We also hard coded keywords for 'ladies') . A switch statement to get the price range was also added to pass the 'price from' and 'price to' range from the drop down.
Philth Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Great looking site! Can I ask what you used for your image viewer, i.e. the fade between images when you click more to view other shots? I'm looking for a smoother image viewer than basic flashing up images. Thanks Philth
