warleb
Now I have my store installed, SSL enabled and stuff like that. Is there a way to test the security? All the general things are done like configure.php and removal of the install folder etc. But is there more tips and tricks to make it bullet proof. Or does it just depnd on how secure your hosts servers are. I don't bother doing backups. I love the thrill of screwing it all up!
Guest
The real world is osCommerce's security test. It is Live on so many thousands of serers that issues have been posted and fixed for years. Make sure you are using the latest version and that you have any patches as mentioned in the forum News and Announcements. Consider moving and/or renaming your admin directory. Definitely .htaccess it and look at a Contrib to secure it. Make sure your host is secure, too. You're pretty safe then.

I am running the latest version of OSC and not sure about if it requires any patches etc. I will have a look to see if I am missing anything. Cheers Steve I don't bother doing backups.
