jadegirl
Hi All Can I get some feedback on the design of my site. My Webpage I'm no designer and don't have a clue about php so this has been a challenge. Its maybe 80% complete and I've listed a couple of products under the first category. Any advice or recommedations would be greatly appreciated. thanks
oldbaldy
Very nice color and design. I really like the way you've taken "minimalist" approach to presenting your products! Very clean! Three suggestions I have to offer: 1. Less header image height. I personally like the header to occupy a smaller % of the page. 200 px or less for the total leaves more room on the page to highlight the things you're trying to sell. 2. Larger product images. I think if you kicked them up to at least 100px wide they would attract a bit more attention. 3. Eliminate Right Column White Space. Since you've decided to not make use of the right column, you may want to eliminate the space being reserved for it. When I check my cart contents, the page gets distorted because of the empty right column. It would also allow more room for suggestion #2. I do this in the stores I've built.. just ask if you need to know how I do it. Larry
rommany
Nice looking site, i was a little confused with the header image ( the lady ), its not really saying baby / mother store to me. I like the buttons, very much like the ones i have on my baby site : ) When i hover over the images i see a dull grey, i would brighten that up. Well Done & Good Luck... Guest
Also you have a lot of categories without category images, thats nots amajor problem, but it looks silly if you have some and then have blank spaces, all or nothing.
radders
Nice colour scheme. I know you haven't completed it yet but make sure you check the German and Spanish categories which are all about computers with some undefined lables and blue buttons whereas the English ones are about babies. Your site title is 'oscommerce'
jadegirl
Thanks all I wanted to get the english side covered first before attemping the spanish and german. Should really have said 70% completed on the english side and 0% on the other side. I wanted to convey a fashion site more then a mother and baby site. A lot of categories aren't done yet. will work on it. Really appreciate your pointers though.
Andrew Yuen
In my opinion your header design does not convey what you are selling. When I look at the header design I think of a store selling fashion designer clothing for the working adult. I suggest changing the header and also the logo geared more towards babies. I am a little confused as to why you would want to convey a fashion site if you are not selling designer clothing. Other then that the buttons on the site look awkward even though they match the color scheme of the site. I suggest toning the buttons down (simplifying) and not using a gradient. Other then that the information located in your footer is off center and I would remove the ?1354 request since Thursday 22 July, 2006? Just one thing though, since when does fashion mean designer? I do intend on selling designer clothing in maternity and childrens ranges but my site is not a baby site. It is a clothing site for women who are having a baby or who have kids.
