Problems with SSL

Recommended Posts

Looking for a little help, I installed and configured my shop before a SSL certificate was installed, it has now been purchased and installed on the server and working fine.

I following the guide here http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?sho...151162&st=0

and made the changes to the configure.php pages (shop and admin)ollowing problems.

1. http://www.mydomain.com/shop does not redirect to https://www.mydomain.com/shop

2 If I manually type my SSL url https://www.mydomain.com/shop the cart loads fine with no errors, but when browsing, clicking links i get redirected back to a http connection.

3. I have also noticed my admin panel tells me i'm not protected by SSL

Can anyone offer any suggestions?, is this a hosting or application issue?

Thanks

Tim

Whe you install ssl on your hosting and set up the configure.php files then certain osCommerce pages should be https - but not all of them by any means. The Login, Create Account, Account Edit etc. and parts of the checkout are https links, but that's all.

You wouldn't want all of your website to be https - because https pages aren't ranked by Search Engines.
