Excluding specific items

Firstly let me thank you for you work on these scripts which are both very timely and extremely useful - good work..

 

Our product range includes wedding cakes which we would rather not send by courier and if we do the rates are very high because of insurance - ranges outwith the scope of your scripts. We have delivery options for local delivery which we do ourselves and customers can select various rates within thirty miles of our base. We need to exclude these specific products from using the courier services at all.

 

However we do need the courier options for other products of a heavy nature but which are suitable for courier delivery so its not just a case of having the courier options enabled or disabled.

 

Can you give me clue as to how to restrict the delivery options so that courier delivery for wedding cakes are excluded?

 

I think this is something I can do by putting an exagerrated weight for the cakes but it will look odd to have a cake of over 20kg's so I feel its better done within the scripts and I would appreciate your advice on where I could modify your scripts or a fairly simple method to achieve this.

 

For example is it possible to exclude all products within a specific category from using certain delivery services?

 

I can do a bit of hacking with PHP so really I need a bit of guidance on how to modify the scripts accordingly.

 

I know this is probably 'off topic' in asking this in here but I would like to do this mod on your scripts because of the imminent changes in RM rates which your scripts address extremely well for all our other products.

 

I would appreciate any assistance you can provide.. :)
