hetster
i am fairly new to oscommerce (last few days) but am not new at html/css . i use this mod all the time in css/html designing its a quality free javascript module. but the more i am learning about oscommerce the more i can see this mod being integrated into oscommerce via something like or even integrated into STS by some budding coder. the reason i say it is as i am new i search these forums a lot and have come accross many threads about rounded corners to boxes. link http://www.html.it/articoli/niftycube/index.html check out the examples just thought i'd post even if it is no good lol

Now after reading the last part of the page listed above I may have found the answer I was looking for in that the call needs to be "NiftyLoad " instead of the window.onload command. I have some time this evening so I may try this out again. What happened before is that the table colums would not line up properly even when may width was a percentage width instead of a hard width. Also, seems like I needed code in another page instead of just the template. This would make a really neat little contribution to STS. Guy

Guy Well if anyone is reading this little start here is my results after about 12 hrs of pulling my hair ( whats left of it ) out. http://www.rcxjets.com/catalogold/ Having a problem of finding the table that makes the main content in the first page. If you follow the catagories menu on the right X-Jets this seems to funtion correctly in that it does not break the corners "container" . There are still other issues that need to be resolved however I think this will happen if I can just fine that peskie little table that is set to 100% and change it in the "main" content. With "red eyeballs" I'm going to let it rest several days and then try looking for it again. Have fun! Guy

Guy Made a lot of progress in the last day and it is starting to take some shape looking like a real page now. I found several little areas that needed to be addressed and think I'm getting a handle on the code. This is not your typical STS type of template as there are several areas in the OSC that need tweeking here and there. I'm taking the time now to document the NiftyLayout css where it change the colors of the text, blocks and such. Wish that would have been added to the code in the first place, but hey! Anyway it is really making me look at OCS in a totally different way than just playing around with STS and making a nice page. Guy
hetster
pages with nifty corners do look a lot better. if i knew osc a bit better i'd have a go myself. but i'm totaly new to php and sql by only a few days. but i have designed many pure css or html/css and nifty corners allways makes them look that bit more professional
starcad
Wow I finally have it all working on my main page with STS 4.2 installed. Funny thing is that when I change the template to the working page everything straighten out as far as the rounded corners goes. Still having a problem with the popup Image and getting it to work correctly however I'm hot on it's trail and should have it resolved in the next several days. This is what it looks like now. http://www.rcxjets.com
hetster
i might have a go myself this weekend. i'm thinking maybe make the info boxes invisible (no borders or headings) and put the relevant $category etc inside nifty corners div's and see how it comes out. shouldnt be hard as left, header, footer and right columns in STS are div containers to start with
starcad
Well after several weeks of having a blast working with both STS and Nifty Corners. I've finally have everything working correctly and even managed to overcome my problem with the popup image I had. It Don't Look Like OSC anymore. It took alot of effort but the reward is worth it, so if anyone would like change there page all I can say is just get in there and get it done. Have fun with what your doing and never give up as you can really get a very lovely looking shop.
starcad
Wow. The last several weeks have been hecktic around the Vinyl Shop with all the elections and winter visitor returning to my area. I haven't been able to really concentrate on RCX- Jets as much as I had hoped as business tripled and I've been cutting and weeding graphics almost 18 hours a day just to keep up demand. Anyway I had a few spare hour tonight to look things over and catch up where I left off. Everything now works on the site and I was able to look and see where that ugly box was coming from and eleminate it. Also added a space at the bottom of the page to help offset the whole site and make it balance. Incorporating Nifty Corners into the STS template was a fun project and taught me a ton about how OCS works and where to change things. Here is the link to the final version. It's ready to open as soon as my son decides to change the temp test products on the page and add his own discriptions and such. It should be very easy for him now to change the look and feel of the site without any knowledge of how it all works. He's not a coder just as server admin person. Opps, almost forgot the link. http://www.rcxjets.com/catalog/ Guy
