hey guys, im in the process of transferring a oscomerce cart from one host to another. ive successfully transferred all files and SQL databases, but when i go to "cart/admin" the usual user name and pass do not work. does anyone know where these are stored or how can I change them without reinstalling the whole cart? I think ive checked all configure.php files, no luck. im desperate, anyh ideas? thanks

thankyou very much mtechama! but i have another question. it seems the password is encrypted. i tried copying it from the other passwd file, but it doesn't seem to be working. how would I encrypt my password to store it in the file?

No, the .htpasswd (no 'S' there you'll notice) shouldn't go into the same directory that you are protecting. It is normally above the root so it isn't accessible by the public.

You should see an option in cPanel for password protecting. Under security? I can't remember where it is but I think it is quite obvious.

If you get problems, your host will be happy to do it for you.
