hetster
seems a strange queston but i started to make an ecommerce page from scratch in html with dreamweaver and no sql just image buy now with an amount 1,2,3 etc..got a fair way through it till client decided that he wanted it easy to maintain..add/delete items etc. so i decided to switch to oscommerce. i have read Many Many posts about paypals modules and both say they require SSL. what i am finding hard to understand is that when i was creating from scratch i used paypals buynow buttons which added items to a total and transfered them to a paypal account specified behind the buttons (paypal shopping cart). BUT in oscommerce both modules require SSL even though oscommerce is specificaly for selling. am i missing something about paypal as they have their own SSL and i didnt need to pass any credit card details on it was all handled paypals end. i am starting to think it would be better going back to pure html/css and makeing him learn html lol. why would paypal require SSL if no credit card details are taken on my store and secondly paypal who DOES take the details is secure. which paypal module should i go for. i think the host of the store actualy has a shared SSL but i am not 100% (still waiting for confirmation as of 30 mins ago)
