Editing the category page

Hi,

 

I wanted to modify the sub category images to have large images as shown here:

But I can't figure out how to format that page. Currently it is creating 3 columns at 33% width but I wanted to change it to 2 columns at 50%. I've installed STS but I can't figure out how to adjust the $content area.

 

Also, I was wondering how it remove the new products box at the bottom of the category page.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This one's tough to find. Goto Administration / Configuration / Maximum Values. The 14th item down is "Categories to list per row". You need to set that to 2.

Goto: Administration / Configuration / Images. Set "Subcategory Image Height" and "Subcategory Image Width" to no value, or zero. This will let that icon be any dimension you make it.
