Shop URL

Been through the forum but I'm not sure if what others are asking are the same question as mine.

This my website URL: www.down2earths.com/index.html

I have a link on the products page to go to the shop which opens up separately and this is the URL:

https://df16.dot5hosting.com/~down2ear/osCo...talog/index.php

I would like to get rid of this section "df16.dot5hosting.com/~down2ear/osCommerce" and have something like: www.down2earths.com/index/catalogue.html or something similar (I just want to take out the reference to the host and to osC)

Is this possible and if so, how do I change it?

Get a static IP and your own SSL.

My webhost charges $30 per year and a GOOD SSL is c$200/year.

BACKUP your current files before editing. Did I mention to BACKUP your current files, first?

Thanks for your response jhsands, but please forgive my ignorance. I have only in the last few weeks learnt what an ISP is, what HTML is and a whole lot of other stuff.

What is a static IP and what is an SSL?

Thanks

I'll get back to this tomorrow. Need to check with the service provider - I'm almost certain SSL is supposed to be included with the package. If not, I'll need to find out how to install it.

Thanks guys.

A free (shared) SSL *is* included with the package - from the URL you posted you are using it right now. If you want something that looks a little better (https://www.down2earths.com instead of https://df16.dot5hosting.com/~down2ear/osCo...talog/index.php ) then you will need to purchase yoru own SSL and dedicated IP. Your host should set this all up for you.
