Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.', expecting ')' in

When i finish the installation and delete the install dir. ,then an error was fount like that :

 

"Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /www/shop/includes/functions/database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!

"

 

After that, i fixed the database password,usernam,server..... then another error was found like that :

 

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.', expecting ')' in /www/shop/includes/functions/database.php on line 13

Without seeing your database.php file it will be hard to tell you what to fix. I would suggest posting it here so maybe someone can spot the issue.
