tastar
This site is really good - really nice and balanced design, great functionality, nice feature set (maybe you should add gift vouchers or seo url's). I looked at it for a while trying to find some problems or shortcomings and finally found a typo on the home page (compnay). And, the home page intro text doesn't match the quality of the site. I checked out the link to your personal home page - the Coral Room site looked a lot more vibrant in the link on your site. Maybe the home page should be more graphic intensive. I don't really like all of the distracting flash stuff that people use, but maybe fish are the perfect flash medium. Like one swimming subtly around on a stunning graphic on the main page. You do a lot of selling on the home page, but you do such a nice job with the category descriptions and the related product stuff that maybe you can drop some of the sales tools from the home page (you have a specials link in the header - do you need it to be the primary graphic on the home page as well?). Great job. Tony
abra123cadabra
Navigation on the site is easy and self-explanatory. The design is clean and functional. The shop is selling aquarium products. Maybe I'm mistaken but in documentaries tropical fishes are usually very colourful. A grey scaled shop doesn't inspire me to buy something tropical fish related. Your design fits a "clinical" business like a pharmacy but not a lovely hobby. I like your ticket system. Would you mind to tell which contribution you used for that? I also like the way you present the payment options in the footer. Kind of takes the negative image of paypal and replaces it with known CC payment. Not sure if the icons in the header are really the right symbols. I wouldn't associate calculator with shopping basket. The icon for specials would better represent a 100 % satisfaction guarantee or customer testimonials. Depending on how the shipping will be impemented, I would like to know how heavy the items are. Keep up the good work. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong. Guest
Great job thus far! I agree that the grey colors don't do your site's theme justice. How about a couple of fishies behind the Coral Room name logo? Give it a little pizzazz, but keep the font grey? "Welcome to the Coral Room the latest online aquarium site on the internet". There are a couple of problems with this statement... 1 - need a comma or something after "Room". 2 - you mention the internet twice in the same sentence: online, internet 3 - the lastest .. site ...... makes it sounds like there are thousands of similar site and yours is just another in a long line. "Ho Hum". Perhaps something along the lines of: Welcome to the Coral Room - The internets newest and most exciting Aquarium product and accessory site! (Add some pizzazz, literally make your visitors heartbeat move when they read how fantastic (fin-tastic) your site is! Love the navigation icons in the header! Support/Customer Service - what happened? I click on it and your site disappears and just a form page comes up - why isn't this form within the site itself? How does a visitor go back? rick-b
Thanks for the feedback. I agree with the lack of colour on the store and the rework of the icons on the header links maybe be needed. I will add a few more contribs and some colour to beef the store up a bit, and to make it more pleasing to the eye (instead of the grey scale design). ..and yes the homepage text is very poor, it was just to fill the gap in until i come up with a better pitch. cheers rick The Coral Room ...store coming soon! 56 contibs added 28 custom creations + additions 6 future contribs 10+ tasks to complete

longstockings
Noticed a typo Button says spear parts and not spare parts Apart from that it's looking good My shop uses zencart www.woolyhats.com but if Oscommerce v3 is better I'll definately be switching to it
