warleb Posted August 14, 2006 Share Posted August 14, 2006 Hi All, I already have a full blown ecommerce site but the shopping cart is hosted by a third party company so this meant customers were taken away from my domain to make purchases. The store theme was seamless so they may not have noticed. Everything was secure but I just got the impression that customers wanted a little more. This is still live and will be replaced by oscommerce shortly. I thought that my old site was pretty nifty but the new oscommerce site really is light years ahead. I am really pleased with it so far. This is why I opted for oscommerce. Having everything hosted in one place is very important for the customer. I have nearly completed the site and just need to add a few more things. Telephone Number - Will be added when we can take credit cards by phone. SSL encryption - This will be added when we go live in a few weeks. I'm just in the process of uploading the products, which is taking quite a bit of time so I hope this new store will bring more customer confidence. I would welcome your opinions on the new site. (SSL in progress) Are the pics to small, to big, not clear enough? Is the checkout process clear enough? Do we give the customer enough information about us in 'Privacy - terms and conditions'? The site loads fast (i am on broadband not dialup) Site is a template purchased so i would expect it to look as it does, everything seems to be as it should backend wise. So not sure if to either put in some blank records to fill it out or place some graphic to fill it out. Thanks for the comments. I don't bother doing backups. I love the thrill of screwing it all up!
