Using Images for categories in categories menu?

Rather than the regular text to display each category, is it possible to replace the text with a seperate image? not a small image on the side, but a full replacement of the text link onto an image with a link to its respective category. Is there a contribution out there for this that lets me do this through the administration section?

Thanks for any help.

are you using the small images for categories? if not, you could use that field. If not, amend your files by duplicating that image field to be used for the new image. Do not male the common mistake of enteting html image info into the category name field ... it will be useless for your header tags and otehr SEO modules.
