tonya-e
I have just installed my oscommerce store but the images (not ones I added, but the gifs that came with the program) are smudged. I am wondering what caused this and if I can fix it without starting all over. I can still click on the images and the links work, but the graphics are smudged. Any suggestions? Tried a different URL (took the OSCSHOP out) and only one third of the files needed to run OSC are present here: http://www.academyarts.net/catalog/ Sorry, I decided to start over after that post and see if maybe I messed up on the FTP or something. However, starting over made zero change in the appearance. At least this time, I won't go further until this problem is fixed. You can see the problem at http://www.academyarts.net/catalog/install/ I welcome any suggestions. Note, when I did put all the files on to the host, I found that only some of them would copy over when I copied the whole "catalog" directory. I still had to manually copy some of them. It was like it stopped after checkout_process.php or some similar file name.

I found that there may be "time-out" issues that have messed some of the files up. I will let you know

I really should be sleeping now...... rosemary
If you click on the place where the buttons (altho smeared) are supposed to be, you get the desired actions. I was able to go on to 2 pages, but I don't want to go further as I will be (may be) installing for you. Therefore, I think that may be the images had been downloaded corrupted. Did you have a reliable connection when you download OSC? Was it a very slow, noisy connection, like a dial-up which may cause download problems for bigger files. Since the images are incomplete from the download, you don't know what else was not complete, and you may not want to install with a corrupted download. Can you download the software at another place, with someone else's computer? Rose UGH! The install site is still smeared!!! Please help! Anyone? I don't know where to try and find an answer. Anyway, it turns out that my host has "Fantastico" with an install for OS Commerce! DUH!!!! I don't know why I didn't look there in the first place!!!! Anyway, now all is well and I can customize my store YEAH!!!! Thanks to everyone who looked at my problem!
