SamyT
Ok here's what's happened so far. I am wanted another store at a new domain and in a new database. I created a new database, then used a backup from my existing store to provide all the SQL for the new store. I used the EXACT same files that are on the existing store and uploaded them to the new store. I edited the includes/configure.php and the admin/includes/configure.php and changed the domain name at every place and changed the database name. So basically, the new store should look and act exactly the same as the old store. I can access the admin, with only one problem, the order page is out of shape, which is kind of weird. HOWEVER I go to www.thedomain.com and it's white - I can't get it to load. It has the exact same database and the exact same files as my other installation, yet I can't access the front of the store. Does anyone have any idea how that's possible? Thanks!

Did I mention to BACKUP your current files, first? "I'm not a hero, I'm a firefighter; it is my job to save lives. I'm a Jesus Christ Firefighter saving souls from the flames!" usernamenone
A white index page is usually hosting company side. You will need to contact them. When you view page source can you see the coding of your index?
♥Vger
At a rough guess you are using an old set of files from before November of last year, which are not php5 compatible and the server you uploaded them to is using php 5. Go to www.oscommerce.com, download the updated version of osCommerce, and apply the patch manually using the html file that comes with the download. Guest
I am having a similar problem... I installed oscommerce from my webhost application system. opened the store page and was able to view the default store in explorer. I logged in to admin configured a bunch of things and then did a sample edit of the index.php from within oscommerce admin file manager...and saved the changes When I refreshed the store in explorer, I get a white blank page. Installed a new version of oscommerce to a new directory... open in explorer and see the store. open the index.php in the admin filemanager and add 555 into text //no other changes 'This 555 is a default setup of the osCommerce project... save and refresh store view...all white/blank page How can a simple change like this cause such a problem? SamyT
Just an update, part of the problem was clearly a config issue. I installed oscommerce from scratch to get all the configs right, then i uploaded all the files again to make sure EVERYTHING was there as sometimes I have disconnect issues with ftp. Now it works, thanks for suggestions
