problems with editing column_left.php, site not working any more ...help needed...

Hi there,

I was trying to add box to the column_left.php file, adding also the file to connect to

The new box. But oddly after I loaded it to the server the browser gave me error:

?Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.? So I re put every thing back to his original state (the column_left.php file) and

Loaded it again but ?problem remain ? 

What do I do ???
