azziman
Hi there, i want to help a local chairty in using oscommerce to accept the donations. the charity wants to add different allocations for example Clean Water, Shelter, or Healthcare from where the user can select a 'project' to donate to and then insert the donation amount into the field. Is this possible with oscommerce ? regards Azziman
Gil_e_n
I don't believe there exists a contribution as such for what you want, no. I've seen a number of people asking for a payment module that will let their customers input an amount to donate when they check out. However, assuming you aren't selling other products, what I would do is set up each project as a product to sell for either a dollar each or a cent each, then modify oscommerce to remove all references to quantity. So that when the customer types in 20 for Shelter, for example, he reads it as donating 20 dollars to Shelter, but oscommerce reads it as buying 20 shelters. A further refinement would be to let them input the amount they want on the product info page, rather than making them wait until they get to the shopping cart. I'm not aware of any contributions that would do this, but it shouldn't be that hard to code, I would think. This actually sounds like a fun project to me. Good luck.
