buydemon
A customer has made a payment on my store which i have just re-furbished. They have made a payment through the credit card module. However, the credit card module isnt set up for payment to go into my bank account. Also, i havnt put my products back on the store yet, so a customer has ordered a product shown when you first install oscommerce. Will the payment go through or not, will the customer be charged???? Thanks in advance, Carl
♥Monika in Germany
Hi Carl, osCommerce's credit card module only collects data, but you would have to enter it manually into a terminal with a payment gateway you have a contract with. So in a nutshell, no, your customer will not be charged, and you should inform him this shop is not live yet. You should actually password protect your whole shop folder until you want to go live. :-) Monika addicted to writing code ... can't get enough of databases either, LOL! my toolbox: Textpad - Compare and Merge - phpMyAdmin - WS_FTP - Photoshop - How to search the forum Interactive Media Award July 2007 ~ category E-Commerce my advice on the forum is for free, PMs where you send me work are considered consultation which I charge for ... SSL is a must if you take CC online, basically, it's a must for any shop. Your host should be having free shared SSL. If not, ask why and threaten to leave ;-). Rheannon Dawn
Hi Carl, osCommerce's credit card module only collects data, but you would have to enter it manually into a terminal with a payment gateway you have a contract with. How does this work with paypal? Do you still need to enter the information manually? (sorry, probably a dumb question, but i'm a newbie..forgive lol). I am having a problem with a credit card order, I received an order confirmation email, and the order/invoice shows up in my admin panel fine, but there is no transaction history or payment on my Paypal account. This is actually my store's first order, so I've not had any experience with this before. I do have another post in Payment Modules under No Payment Received, where I posted an error message that I received while trying to send a test IPN, if you'd care to check it out. I just thought I'd reply to this post, as it looked like it might have a bit of relevency to my situation. )o( Blessings..RheannonDawn

You need to download and install that. If you already go an order via the credit card module, you need to contact your customer so you can send him a paypal invoice from your paypal admin manually to pay before you ship the item. Thank you for your quick reply. So, do I need to disable the credit card option in modules, and just leave paypal IPN active, then? And, I am unclear as to the dl/install of the paypal IPN contribution..I wasn't aware that it was necessary. I bought my store pre-made and simply opened a paypal account, the store information that I received stated that it was already equipped to perform paypal transactions. But, again, I am new and ignorant about all this..lol.. so, I really have no idea. However, you sound much more knowledgeable than I, here..so, where do I find the paypal IPN contribution for dl? Again, thank you. )o( Blessings..RheannonDawn

Hi Rheannon, I use this http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...paypal+ipn+team You will have to remove all payment modules you cannot process, which it sounds is native credit card for you. Read through all paypal ipn info and if you need thorough explanation of the topic, it's extremely well covered in the book reviewed by CodeCutter in his blog http://blogs.oscommerce.com/codecutter/ind...p?showentry=507 :-) Monika addicted to writing code ... can't get enough of databases either, LOL! my toolbox: Textpad - Compare and Merge - phpMyAdmin - WS_FTP - Photoshop - How to search the forum Interactive Media Award July 2007 ~ category E-Commerce my advice on the forum is for free, PMs where you send me work are considered consultation which I charge for ...
