matrix2223
You site looks clean for looking still stock. Im not downing that in any way. No where with in you contact us, privacy, conditions, or any other page, I didnt see an address or telephone number. Also the best sellers box I couldnt really make out but every other word. Your logo is cool but yet way to wide. I think if you change the best sellers box, srink your logo to where it is atleast close to fitting the page, and add at least another form of contact it will be much better. Dont take any offense to this its mear my opinion. Eric
invasi0n
The site looks nice, but i don't like that "Secured by rapidssl". You can try SSL Infobox or SSL Seal Info Box. Also, i think paylogos.gif is too big. As long as people can't choose other language, that box can be removed. I like your Bestsellers box but if javascript is disabled, it doesn't look so nice. You could also remove the date and requests from footer. And the last thing add an address or a phone number where people can contact you.
m4tty1
Hi peeps Thanks for the comments. Please do not worry about offending me and don't hold back. Let me have it :P The above comments have been taken onboard. I will be adding a phone number and placing this in my logo and in the contact details. I was thinking of shrinking the page size so it has a border either side. I am sure some one mentioned a module where I can adjust the size of the page with out messing with the CSS file (I don't have the skill). Will take a look for this. I also fully agree about the SSL logo. I have recently switched servers and this has only just been implemented. I am going to get the SSL details in either the left or right column. That is a temp logo I put up so its evident we are secure. I will also resize the paylogo, your right it is way too big. I will also ammend the best sellers. Again thanks for the input. I will make the above changes and get back to you incase you have any further suggestions. If anyone else has any suggestions please let me know. tastar
Too much stuff doesn't work. Like Gift Vouchers - I didn't see gift vouchers in your category list, so I went to the info box to find out how to purchase them. Said to just buy them. So, I tried to search for them - and couldn't enter anything in either the quick search or the advanced search fields. So, effectively there are no gift vouchers even though you say there are, and your search is broken. You refer to a HelpDesk and Support Forum that are linked from an info box in the left column. The info box looks a hair invisible in my browser. If you put in features, like the best seller box, like Gift Vouchers, like the HelpDesk stuff, make sure they work, and work in commonly used browsers and circumstances. In my opinion, the stuff that you present needs to be rock solid - if it ain't, don't put it in there. So, maybe your lack of sales is due to the flaws in the basic operation of the site. Or, maybe it's because you have problems with your business model. You are very fortunate to have a lot of traffic. But, if you don't clean up the basic operation of the stuff that you already have, then doing a fixed width, analyzing your business model, etc. isn't going to be worth the effort. m4tty1
Hi Tony All the stuff was operational, I made a major cock up changing something and had to revert back to a old backup. Thanks for your comments

rebugger
is it just me or does the site take forever to load? maybe those arcade & pinball thumbnails on the front page are too large. if so, reduce them down to 5-10kb. by the way, are you getting a lot of visitors to the home page only, or do you have a good number of visits to your product pages too? are they good prices? you have an unusual array of products for a site named www.xbox-entertainment.co.uk. maybe you can concentrate on the xbox/console niche with this shop, or acade machines? (seems strange to offer dvd writers & sim cards here.) have you considered adding the shipping prices to the 'shipping & returns' page. i always consider it a big negative if i have to go through a checkout procedure just to see the shipping quote. and the lack of contact info was mentioned a few times already....... :-" good luck, j. Victor Wise
Hello, Nice site all around. How are you getting traffic to your website? You might want to look at the highest traffic search term you have, and then make a customized landing page for that search term. I didn’t have any problems with the site speed. The checkout looked fine except there was a broken image in the upper right hand corner. Your own SSL might improve conversion as well. These are expensive items so a ‘hacker safe logo’ or a hyperlink explaining how this is a secure checkout, or a phone number, might make people less apprehensive about purchasing from you online. Just make sure that this information is seen on the first page of the checkout as that is when it matters. Also, in regards to checkout, I am having a weird problem when I use the firefox browser. It seems that I can’t enter any information in the forms for my name and tel number. This might just be a problem on my end - can anyone else with firefox verify this problem? Firefox and Mozilla account for over 25% of internet browsers if I remember the statistic correctly. My biggest gripe with the navigation is when you get the screen that says CATEGORIES. You see the categories, and then below in a box with blue banner you see ‘new products for November’. The way you have ‘new products for november’ highlighted with blue and in a box, draws the eye away from the categories which the customer wants to see (after all, they clicked on it). I would use bigger category pictures and integrate the text into the actual image to make them stand out over the other information. For some of the product details page, I don’t like the color you use for the text which is blue. If you want blue in there (which is a good idea), why not use a slight blue background with black text. Also, with black text, you could reduce the text size with no expense in legibility. I notice some of the pages use black text already (these pages look really nice by the way). I would make sure that the way you use the text in the product display is consistent throughout the site. Also, with the product details page, some of the pages have very long descriptions with many pictures. I would adjust your website so that on all pages; especially long pages, the ‘add to cart’ button appears above the fold and near to where the price is displayed. For the ‘cart contents’ you might want to include a little more on shipping. For example, you might want to put ‘ships within 24 hours’ if you aren’t out of stock. Also, you might want to include a simple table at the bottom of this page outlining a few shipping costs and the time to arrival. Also, I would get rid of the red description about ‘out of stock items’. I think this should not appear when all the items are ‘in stock’. Please don't take any of my comments above personally. These are just some of my thoughts. Let us know how everything goes. Victor Best Regards, Victor Wise
philhowell
Try responding to emails sent to [email protected] or via the contact page! I placed an order over a week ago and haven't had a single reply to the six emails i've sent you, you'll be getting a credit card charge back tomorrow if the item doesn't arrive today.... Any business person will tell you repeat business and word of mouth are an important part of any business arena. ♥Vger
Any feedback however negative is appreciated The base of the site is a bought-in template. It's not exactly as if you had built it yourself. you'll be getting a credit card charge back tomorrow if the item doesn't arrive today Maybe that's why you're not getting the business you'd like to have? Ouch! i sure hope you're fixing that problem (if you're not receiving the emails), apologizing to the customer, giving them a full refund and sending them whatever they ordered for free or at a steeply reduced price. if it were my business i'd take a short term monetary loss up to a couple of hundred dollars as opposed to the long term customer relationship and word of mouth that could be worth thousands. is it just me or does the site take forever to load?maybe those arcade & pinball thumbnails on the front page are too large. if so, reduce them down to 5-10kb. i agree with this. the thumbnails are generally full size images, not true thumbnails. my own goal for thumbnails is 2-4 kb, and full size images 20-40kb. that one animaged gif of the Hot Rock is 3.6 Mb. there are several decent thumbnail contribs out there for osC, although i don't know if any of them will work with an animated gif. the Cyclo Evolution image has a decent file size (17 kb), but is actually squished (150 x 100 image displayed in a 100x100 box). you can get rid of image squishing by going into admin>configuration>images and setting the height for each image type to 0, which will allow you to set the width, and the height will automatically maintain the images true proportions. Also, when i click Enlarge, the Cyclo Evolution image doesn't really enlarge since it's so small to begin with For larger issues about why you might not be getting sales from your traffic, you should ask yourself why should anyone buy from you and not from someone else? pay attention to your own online shopping habits. when i am shopping, i buy from a site IF: 1. i can't find the item anywhere else. if there's only one site that sells something, then i don't really have a choice, and if i want it, that's where i'll buy it. 2. if there are a few sites that sell the item, i'll be comparing a few things: the prices, the product range, the "feel" of the site, and shipping. Prices: they at least have to be comparable. i don't mind paying slightly more for something if i like the site. but more than 10-15% Product range: it's a pain to deal with multiple customer accounts, so i'm more likely to buy from a site if they have lots of things i might buy in the future. if your site has a bunch of different but related things that i would otherwise have to go to 5 different sites to get i'll shop with you. i'm not a gamer, so i don't know, but i suspect your shop might fit the bill of being a one stop place for a variety of related items. Site "Feel": this one is difficult to explain, but some sites feel right and some don't i suppose it has to do with how professional they look, and whether everything works. i'd say your site is pretty good. i like the template you used. 3. if there are dozens of places that sell what you're selling then i have pretty much one single factor: the price has to be rock bottom. of course shipping costs are factored into that, and part of that is how much trouble it is to find out exactly what the shipping costs are going to be. if you annoy me, i'm outta there. speaking of which, just got a phone call, and i'm outta here. just my 2cents. i thing the site looks nice. rj
