mhunter
I had a problem with the tax being charged for all states instead of just one - so I uninstalled any and all tax zones, tax class and tax rate. How then, is tax still being charged to all orders to all states? Its still charging the same percentage - where is it getting the tax rate from if there is none configured ??? brianstorm
why don't you create a new tax class, tax zone & tax rate... (tax rate is last) and set the tax zone to include everywhere, set the tax rate to 0%... then set admin-->configuration--> display prices with tax this should include a 0% tax on all sales to everywhere but without dispalying a separate tax value which is what you want (i think) with ten thousand dollars we'll all be millionaires
mhunter
Hi brainstorm Thanks for the suggestion as a way around it - very weird though, I created the tax rate for all zone in the US as 0% - but guess what - it STILL is charging tax rate of 8.25% for all states ! - doesnt make sense. Dont know where it could possibly be getting it from
bugsnhugs
Has anyone figured this out? I'm having the same problem. I only need to charge tax for sales to customers in Pennsylvania but it's applying tax on all states, all countries.
bugsnhugs
I am proof that if you just keep clicking long enough you'll eventually stumble across the solution. Click on the folder to the left of your Tax Zone (in my case, Pennsylvania). This takes you to a screen where you can define what countries and zones are part of your tax zone. I was able to take a test order for a customer in California and it didn't charge tax. Hooray!
mhunter
greetings and thanks but i already did that. in my case i had to delete all records from the tax table in the database. for some reason the admin was not properly deleting/changing records in this table. i couldnt figure out why, when i deleted all tax zones and rates in the admin, it would still charge tax. after looking at the tax table in the database i realized the records were still there. after manually deleting these from the db and then re-entering thru the admin, everything is now working properly thx

boxesonthemove
I don't get it. I've uploading the original tax class files onto the server but yet it still charges 2 Taxes! I'm from canada and I just want to charge PST. It's Charging PST + PST (twice) why? It was working fine last night, then I check it today and its like this again! I even deleted all my tax zones and classes from admin but it still charges taxes! How do I get the default back or where do I edit the file and what do i edit! Been working on this for 4 hours now. Time for a break! I appreciate if someone knows how to fix this multiple tax charging. Thanks No Boxes? No Problem! We Sell Boxes and Moving Supplies for LESS! I have deleted all the tax zones, classes and rates in admin but it is still charging 8% tax! Therefore I still think the 8% is trapped in the database somewhere! All I am tryign to do is add another tax called GST to the tax rates! I added it but it stillonly charges PST! makes no sense to me! Anyone figure this out? No Boxes? No Problem!
