drop down list problems

I made a test product then tried to make a duplicate of it. The

duplicate had everything the original had but the attributes (COLOR

and SIZE drop down selections).

 

I will have 500 different shirt designs for my website but they will

have the same descriptions and attributes (COLOR and SIZE drop down

selections). That is why I would just like to copy one and duplicate

it 499 more times so

that all I have to do is edit the title and upload the picture for

each of the 500 designs but have the same description and the same

attributes.

 

Here is the problem, when you duplicate an item the duplicate has

everthing but the attributes (COLOR and SIZE drop down selections)

This means I have

to manually asign attributes to the 499 different designs I have.

 

Is there a way to assign the same attributes I created for the test

product to the duplicates I need to create?

if you use something like the easy populate module you could duplicate the products and attributes in the spreadsheet fast and then simply upload it. You have to change the model numbers though but should be fairly easy like running an excel macro to do that.
