locust13 Posted August 10, 2006 Share Posted August 10, 2006 Hello everyone, I've finally got my website setup with SSL and the catalog at a fair point *still adding goodies :P* I'm going to setup a bank sometime soon for my online store and get a paypal account linked to it. I have a few questions for you paypal know it all/know some :P 1) Is a merchents account and then upgrade to premier account free? *So I can accept other kinds of payment :)* 2) Is paypal IPN easy to install and how does that help more than just the usual paypal payment module? Also, it's free correct, no hidden fees? (http://www.paypal.com/ipn) 3) If someone makes a purchase of one of my products, do I get the email telling me that instantly/just about, and can I take the payment out of the account instantly or do they hold the money? I need to get the payment right when it's sent to my account so I can order parts. One quick question about SSL I think I have it enabled correctly. When I go to checkout the url changes to https instead of http and it has a yellow background. This means everything is secure, correct? Or is something supposed to pop up? Paypal Website Standard is the free merchant account we use. They charge per transaction, but not setup or monthly fee... they deduct their fee as the payments are received.
