External link in header or footer

I am trying to link to my main site from the header and footer of oscommerce.

 

I would like to link to

 

http://www.mysite.com/

 

But the link comes out like

 

http://www.mysite.com/shop/http://www.mysite.com/

 

I assume somewhere is a little snippet of code that is telling it to add "http://www.mysite.com/shop" to the begining of all link but I do not want it to do that in a few instances.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.
