Add new box to main page

First Question?

I need to know how to add a box in the main page area, just below what’s New Here?

 

and once the box is added is it possible to have Java files inside that box

 

for example I want to add a banner from Google just below whets new and the products

 

Second Question?

Is it possible to make each item in Categories to point to a new page nested of products? for example when I click on

Hardware ()

CDROM Drives

then a new page will open not the products page as I want to customize that page with some links and more boxes
