muttsnuts
i havent been able to get this to work either. and i cant seem to find a contrib for it. I have been trying to do this recently and have got some way but it's not perfect. Firstly I created a html newsletter as a html page. I installed FCKEditor Newsletter HTML. This contrib also requires you to install FCKEditor html editor which is easy enough but I had a few problems configuring although it works now. I started a new newsletter, copied the content of my html page newsletter and pasted it in the editor and it looked perfect, however when I previewed and received my newsletter there was masses of spaces added all over the place so not ideal. Perhaps someone else can offer more advice.
Wiggins
Thanks for the tip. I just knew that I can't be the only store with this problem. I have 4500 customers that it would be nice to market to with a nice looking html e-mail. I will check out the link.

Wiggins
So far, I have not heard of any one successfully send an html e-mail out of OSC! :'( This totally amazes me. How is every one marketing to their customer bases? I used you be able to do it well prior to switching to OSC, we are building a newer site with the CRE version and e-mails work great. Please, some one here knows how to get this done. We did load the fckeditor cont and it still does not work. Their are a bunch of very talented folks on this forum, lets get this fixed. And you could check the email templates and htmlarea modules that give you a good interface to built your emails.

Guest
Can you share with us how you were able to get this to work? I have noticed this is a popular topic. I did not do anything special. Just enabling HTML from the osc admin settings. In some cases I used contributions to enhance the various emails a store would send but I used the default functions. There were a couple cases where I saw problems sending HTML mail and thought it was the osc code, tried different things with the mail code on the admin end (specifically the encode() function in the mime.php where it processes the mail parts), but after some investigation it was the mail server setup that had some problems with queueing the html emails. In another case I saw a problem was with the mail headers where had to setup the sendmail path using the '-f' switch to setup the return path. There were other threads about if you check the forum but basically the final code line for the mail in the email class you could try, return mail($to, $subject, $this->output, 'From: '.$from.$this->lf.implode($this->lf, $this->headers).$this->lf.implode($this->lf, $xtra_headers), '-f' . $from_addr);

simplistic
I found this to work!! Posted by Vger on a UK site The osCommerce Newsletter is set to send in plain text, and not in html. You need to enable the newsletter to render in HTML To render in html apply the following to (approx) line 63 of admin/includes/modules/newsletter/newsletter.php $mimemessage->add_html($this->content); //instead of add_text, which is the default Also, you need to enter the html code as one long piece of text, don't use any break commands else the breaks will be applied at the top of the newsletter. tidus04
Hi Simplistic, I tried ($mimemessage->add_html($this->content); //instead of add_text, which is the default) and it works. Thanks.
