Forestshopkeeper
I want to change the page heading for the Categories pages. When I look at view source for the page I am on, I see class="pageHeading" and the name. Where do I find this in OsCommerce? I don't know if it is being pulled from one of the tables or one of the files. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Jim

Vger I found a contribution that allows you to add full category descriptions and titles. This fixed my problem. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ons,4294/page,
Jack_mcs
If you are going to install that contribution, I would instead recommend the Header Tags contribuiton. It has that option in it as well as the more important title/meta tag changes your shop needs. If you install the above conttribution now and then decide to install Header Tags later, which most sites do, it will create more work and confusion for you. Unfortunately, I have already installed the category descriptions contrib. I will look at the Header tags and figure it out. Jim

Jack Hi there, I am looking to change my title bar as well, currently it reads "oscommerce". I have looked for the header tags contribution you are refering to, and I found the following, is it this the one? header tags v 2.5.9.1... it is a tar.gz file, and I am not sure how to open it. Thank you for any help. http://gallery.juliatrops.com
Jack_mcs
Just download the 2.5.9 version, unless you need to extra language added in 2.5.9.1. If you do, you will need to download a problem like WinImp to unarchive the gzip file. Jack Hi Jack: Since I had already installed the category descriptions contrib, can you get me started on what I need to do to implement Header Tags. I realize you said it would cause more work and confusion, but since I had already taken the step I am in for the work and confusion. I downloaded the your contrib, I just don't know how to get started and not ruin the work I have done to add category descriptions across my site. Thanks Jim
Jack_mcs
There are two areas where the two contributions overlap: index.php and admin/categories.php. For index.php, only make the change to the <title> for Header Tags if you plan on still using the Categories Description contribution. If not, then install the rest of the changes in that file. I can't give you a step-by-step for admin/categories.php since it is too detailed. You have to disable categories description in your admin settings each time you want to change the settings for the categories header tags. Remember to turn it back on (if you are going to use that option). I appreciate you getting back to me. Jim
