2 stores on using 1 product database

Hi,

I have two stores owned by different people using the same database. When I go into the individual websites and into their catalog/admin/index.php page and click on the configuration, I don't seem to be able to configure the stores separately. If I go into one web site and configure it, the configuration information automatically shows up in both web sites config info, even though the 2 sites are not linking across to each other except for the database. I thought I could use the same database but have 2 separate stores connect to it so I wouldn't have to update more than one product database. Is this possible? Can these stores be configured separately sharing the same database? Both domains are hosted on the same dedicated server.

Thanks,

Anna

You'll need to install the Multi Stores contribution. It's a large install and not for beginners, but it allows you to run multiple stores on one database and from one admin panel.

Without something like that you won't be able to do what you're trying to do.
