I NEED THE CORRECT DIRECTORY FOR PLACING FILES FOR STORE DOWNLOAD!

ive been working through some issues with getting store downloads to work i think ive got the scope of the problem narrowed down to an issue with the actual directory the files to be downloaded are inside on my file manager...

currently my files to be downloaded are inside directory .../oscommerce/catalog/download/

ive tried using formats such as .exe .rar and .zip for the files to be downloaded

when i try to test the download by purchasing a test product, when i click the download link the windows prompt comes up and asks to "save" or "open" but after that i get an error that it cant find the file or the file does not exist, which lead me to believe that there is an issue with either how im calling on the file or the directory in which the files are placed

what i have done:

-checked all my chmod number settings.. they all seem to be in order

-made sure my configure.php file had the correct slashes

-adjusted the attributes in the admin panel to download the test file

i did notice that when i preview the test product in the admin panel that i get an error message at the top of the screen that says no file uploaded... but i dont understand since i placed the file to be downloaded it what should be the correct directory

any help is appreciated... thanks in advance. - jay (legacymovement.com)
