lostndazed
Hey duock! I like it. Suggest you get an email cloaker for your email address on your so email harvesters don't swamp you with spam. Might want to look into putting Meta Tags on your pages (see contributions). And SEO URLs (also in contributions).

abra123cadabra
Are you ready for some feedback/thoughts while checking your shop? 1. Nice clean template. 2. Why do you have an email msn@... under your logo? Are you connected to msn? Is this for msn messenger? 3. Your business name/site name is not very catching and on first impression I have no idea what you are selling. 4. You are wasting valuable space on the index page with your slogan "Feel Free To Walk Here And Buy Anything We Sell". Isn't that the goal of any e-commerce shop? 5. Next to featured products is a column "You'll also like" which is just empty on the index page. 6. No terms and conditions or shipping and returns only privacy policy. 7. No physical business address or phone number. Who are you, where are you, can I trust you? 8. The feedback page is a nice idea but anyone can leave a message not only registered customers. Not saying you did but you could just fake a few good feedbacks. There is no relation to what products they bought. Doesn't help make you trustworthy in my eyes. 9. In new products listing the manufacturer information is not used. Either don't display it or add this information to the products. 10. Your privacy policy states that all personal data sent to your server is encrypted. The create account page is not. Don't tell me my data is encrypted and safe if it isn't. 11. You accept only paypal payment which is ok. The fact that you want the payment via paypal made to ahpeg....@yahoo.... is suspicious. No relation to your shop name. 12. I'm placing a test order. The shipping options are displayed twice (Airmail 7 - 14 days -> 27 $, Airmail 7 - 14 days -> No shipping available to the selected country, Courier 1 - 4 days -> 38 $, Courier 1 - 4 days -> No shipping available to the selected country). Overall I would not buy from you as your identity as a business is not clear. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong. abra123cadabra
12. No, it doesn't. It displays both shipping options twice (once with a price and once stating no shipping available to my country). You need to fix this. I put in test details and selected a country so it should either tell me the price or that shipping is not available but not both. Well, it's your shop but I think you have to put some effort into it. It's very difficult to "sell what you've got" without a "vision". There are too many people out there selling this and that and in the end nothing at all because they don't have what it takes to get the sale. Your answers to my feedback tell me the same. You'll do that next time or later or not at all because it's more work. You ask for feedback and to be successful on the web you need to put in a lot of effort to firstly get customers to your shop, then to interest them in what you sell and finally to get their order. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. kzod
Duock, you sound like a nice guy motivated to start hisn own online business. Very few companies can be an e-bay or amazon and be sucessful at selling everytthing. What abra was trying to say is you got to have an advantage. A reason why I should buy from you besides the fact that you carry 'stuff'. What makes you the best choice for me? What's in it for me??? Figure that out and you'll have a better shot at capturing some sales. If you cab't think of a reason, why would I?

abra123cadabra
My feedback is always meant to help overcome issues potential customers have with a shop. It's never meant offensive. Usually I write the feedback while I navigate through a site and just state what I think of what I see. In general, you want your customers to perceive you as a serious, well established and trustworthy business. Things like making me search for an address or phone number is not a good idea. I'll probably never use it but if I can look it up on the map or dialing the number to hear someone answer it with the business name gives a headstart. In German law you are required to put an Impressum on your site which gives information about who runs the site. I know, it's not a good feeling to give your details on the internet but then again, the shop is virtual. I can't walk in and take a look around and exchange a few words with the manager. BTW due to usually high shipping costs I prefer to order close to home so please, tell me at least which country you are in. Any kind of information that proves that you are a professional business will help build up that necessary trust to give you my money and believe that I will receive the goods. Feedback or customer testimonials are a good way. Shopzilla or customer satisfaction awards are another good thing. Just some things that everyone has heard of and that we as a customer or a merchant certainly want to avoid: Pay for something and never receive the goods or receive damaged/minor quality goods with no way to get hold of the seller or the monye abakc. Same goes the other way round. Sell something ,send the goods and never receive the money or get chargebacks. Or in general CC fraud (Having worked for an airline, CC payments from countries like Nigeria can only be made in person at the ticket counter and never over the phone or online. Although usually you don't need to reconfirm a flight, passengers from Accra or Lagos alway have to do this or they can't fly with this airline.). In general receive bad quality or even dangerous goods and never be able to return or exchange them because you can't get hold of the seller. I recently ordered business cards online. Everything went smoothly and to my satisfaction so I recommended the service to a friend who placed an order as well. Of course the cards didn't arrive in the specified time and we tried to contact customer support via their online form (no phone number or business address on the website). No reply. Tried several times, nothing happened. We already thought of charging back the CC. Last attempt was to reply to the order confirmation email and voila, we got an auto-response telling us that in fact their customer service can only be reached by phone (giving the number on the web would have saved us a couple of days of frustration). Toll-free. We are in Ireland and Toll-free USA is not toll-free at all. In fact, it's very expensive for us. Ok, in the end we received the replacement order but overall it was not a good experience. What made it worse was the fact that I found countless testimonials on the web about their bad service, charging CC for something never ordered etc. etc. We want to be a trustworthy online business. We want customers to come back with their friends to buy more. We want to be successful. And that takes a lot of effort and a clear vision of what, how and to whom we want to sell. So after receiving feedback put in double the effort and don't get frustrated. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product.
