Helvis
I don't know where to post suggestions for the forums so I'm taking a shot here. By default the search brings up any post that contains any word in the search parameter and that is useless. Dozens of non-related posts clutter what may be relavent info. I didn't realize that the search required manual input of ancient boolean operators during my first few searches and that forced me to post my questions rather then dig through all of the returned posts myself. Now I know better but I would bet that most new people will assume that the search engine was designed sometime this century and will automatically search for all the words in the search and bring the most relevant posts to the top. A good search engine will stop a lot of the new posts. Just my opinion.

Helvis
That is an option that I was aware of but since I didn't know that it doesn't automatically search for all the words, I didn't use it. And since other new users wouldn't normally assume that you had to put +'s between all the words, they won't know to use it either. If a proper search engine is out of the question, they may consider putting a sticky on this post to warn others of the archaic technology in the search department ;o)
Jack_mcs
You can request that if you like but I doubt it will happen. There have been many posts on the subject over the years but little, if any, improvement has been made. Helvis
That's weird. It seems like such a simple request that would help the entire community a great deal. Oh well  You can request that if you like but I doubt it will happen. There have been many posts on the subject over the years but little, if any, improvement has been made. Jack_mcs
I'm not sure how much of it is editable with the forum package being used. But even if it were 100% configurable, I doubt that the time would be taken to work on that with MS3 over a year behind schedule. jasonabc
I agree the board search engine is pretty bad - I usually use Google to search the boards. Remember that the board (and it's search engine) were built by Invasion - not the OSC Dev Team ;-) Jason My Contributions: Paypal Payflow PRO | Rollover Category Images | Authorize.net Invoice Number Fix
