trouble installing payment module

The payment module documentation does not seem to match what I'm actually seeing in the payment module screen. Can anyone point me to a detailed instruction of how to install a payment module?

Using FileZilla I've upload the directone.php file to the payment folders. Not sure what to do next. The documentation shows picture of spanners etc but there does not seem to be anything like that I can see.

Depends on the module of course, but mostly you just need to upload the main file to includes/modules/payment and the language file to includes/languages/english/modules/payment. Sometimes you have to add other code to various other pages.

Once you've installed a new module, though, you need to activate it. Go to your admin -> Modules -> Payment and look for Directone. Install it, and enter whatever information it prompts for. Once you've finished, it should appear on your website.

Always BACK UP your files and your database before making any changes. Before asking questions, check out the Knowledge Base. Check out the contributions to see if your problem's solved there. Search the forums.

Thanks. My 2 breakthroughs came when I discovered that:

1. the php files to be installed were not the same although named the same (I had placed the same one in each of the two locations)

2. the edit menu was linked to the name on the left - not on the right, next to the actions where edit normally occurs.

I put this up so that others may find their way...
