Sorcerer2066
Hey. Sick to death of my yacht site so thought I would look at yours. I really like the skype doodah things. What a brilliant idea!! Really nifty. I would love to know how you did that. On the negative, am really picky about images and feel that in the compression they have lost some impact. On this page http://tsurishopjapan.com/product_info.php...;products_id=88 most of the text is verdana but the bookmark my pages etc is times new roman which looks a bit out of place. Also this page the enlarged image is brilliant, the small images just doesn't do it for me. Manufacturers box missing left rounded corner. Think the view all products is a great idea too. As someone picked up on my site your address is missing or at least I didn't spot it. Good luck though. A really nice feel. Like your text on home page to. Not too much, not too little! Cheers jen
Guest
Heya Nigel! 1 - am on dialup - site is taking a long time to load. Hmmm, am beginning to wonder about something, it seems that osc stores are taking a long time to load for me tonight, but other sites (regardless of html, php, etc) are doing just fine. Hmmmmm. *shrugs* Don't take this one to heart, I'll check again another day. 2 - I really wouldn't have product count in your categories box - no need to tell your customers ahead of time you only have one fishing wear item. 3 - footer - really hard to read the black on dark maroon and the mouseover link color is not good either. 4 - This is just a personal thing, perhaps move the live contact info box higher. 5 - Although they look create themselves, your buttons don't match the site. 6 - I think it's your pictures that are taking forever to load. Am on your about us page and the image at the top is taking a long time to load. Now its loaded - great pics! Good looking couple *grins* Now THIS (the changing pics) would be awesome on the index page of the site!!!! A real grabber for your customers and visitors. Regardless of where it is on the site though, it does need to load much faster. And perhaps a litter faster on switching from pic to pic. Let's say it is at 8 seconds on each pic - make it 5 seconds .. you know? 7 - Contact us page should have your address, phone numbers if possible, alternate email addys, and a link to your Skype section also. Overall, I really like your site. Yes, it's "stock", but yet you've done a lot. Great potential and great subject matter! Best of luck to you!!! Cheers jen The skype things were just installed last month and I tell it was one of the best contribs I've installed......I've been talking to guys from OZ, Brazil and Spain. They want to ask lots of questions so we are just making calls to each other and getting things all lined up, great stuff. Yeah the bookmark and ask us a question contribs I just installed 24 hours ago and I'm trying to figure out how the hell I edit the text fonts.....I'm asking here but have had no repsonse  Thanks about that manufacturers thing, didn't see that!!! View all is great because you can see a whole stores inventory in one swoop. Moonlight.......... No offense but do people still use dial-up? Last time I used that it was about like 5 years ago.........oh those days of slow internet. But sometimes my server is experiencing problems because of the power outages in California. Really I thought those buttons were pretty good on my site. I thin the blue comes out nice and sharp when matched to the header. 7 - Contact us page should have your address, phone numbers if possible, alternate email addys, and a link to your Skype section also. Ok OK both your guys have said that and I'll add that in ASAP. I just was a little reluctant because of privacy and stuff. So great for all the info guys and I'm happy to hear what you said.......it's all good  Nigelman
Guest
Unfortunately, if you live in a rural area that is mostly "poor folks", the phone companies don't give two shakes about keeping their phone lines up to date, nor installing dsl. And the cable modem prices are blasphemous! So, until we can afford to move or Bellsouth decides to finally install DSL, we are SOL on dialup. I have called Bellsouth 3 times a year for the last 4 years we've been here ... they must have a decent size list of people in the area requesting DSL. As far as I know, we're the only ones requesting!!!!! UGH! *sighs*
Sorcerer2066
Hi Guys With regards the dial up, on xmas day 2005 me and my two kids packed up and went round the world. We were gone five months and had a great time but staying in touch with home was tough because we did it through the net. It is just on my own experience but it made me revise my ideas on broadband and certainly wifi! South Africa - where we were -dial up mostly (80%) Zimbabwe - where we were -dial up (100%) Malaysia - broadband mostly Singapore - broadband mostly Australia - where we were -dial up mostly (60%) New Zealand - where we were - broadband dial up (50/50%) Cook Islands Tahiti - achingly achingly slow California - where we were -dial up mostly Jen
usernamenone
Your header image needs to be addressed. Your image is 784px wide but you specify in your header tag that it is 852 stretching the header image off the page for an 800 screen resolution. You should change the title to tsurishopjapan.com (see the tag below) and not osCommerce, this is for mouse over text and I am sure you would like it to say your site and not osCommerce. <table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr class="header"> <td valign="middle"><a href="http://tsurishopjapan.com/index.php"><img src="images/oscommerce.gif" border="0" alt="osCommerce" title=" osCommerce " width="852" height="118"></a></td> </tr> </table>

my scrap shop G
"We can now deliver your products to another address other than yours! (U.S. Only)" But you are based in Fukuoka??? I know it says "based from" which I don't think is great English btw. So where are you really? and also, your currency codes aren't quite correct. Technically Australian dollars are "AU$" I'm sure Canada is CN, etc. you run into a problem with this when you list "chinese yuan" as C$ and Canadian dollars as C$. It's certainly not essential, but just looks more professional to list currencies with their official abbreviation. your About Me page is cute, although dubious fish size that Yumi is holding!!!! ♥Monika in Germany
I'd reorganize the information box, it looks wierd to me with expressions getting shorter with each line ... Double check the breadcrumb for you about us page ... 2x teh same expression with bad file name (hover) I'd ditch the paypal box also, it makes your pages longer and you have the CC logos in your header already. Your footer text is extremely hard to read ... on purpose? it would make me wonder if you are hiding legal stuff there that you have to add but do not want me to see. Consider centering the cat image on this page http://tsurishopjapan.com/index.php?cPath=48 HTH! :-) Monika addicted to writing code ... can't get enough of databases either, LOL! my toolbox: Textpad - Compare and Merge - phpMyAdmin - WS_FTP - Photoshop - How to search the forum Interactive Media Award July 2007 ~ category E-Commerce my advice on the forum is for free, PMs where you send me work are considered consultation which I charge for ... spax
Just to add to the loading time issue. I use ADSL and the landing page took 36 seconds to load - far too long! It must take forever on dial-up. You have too many heavy images on there and should consider using a thumbnail mod.

Tsuri Japan
Ok my list of things is getting shorter...... You should change the title to tsurishopjapan.com Done thank for that one! Your image is 784px wide but you specify in your header tag that it is 852 stretching the header image off the page for an 800 screen resolution Ouch, I'll try to fix that soon........ "We can now deliver your products to another address other than yours! (U.S. Only)" But you are based in Fukuoka??? Text changed to something more personal to my site.... Technically Australian dollars are "AU$" I'm sure Canada is CN, etc. That's a good point and I've changed all my currencies to a three letter type like AUD, USD, CDN etc etc. your About Me page is cute, although dubious fish size that Yumi is holding!!!! Heee heeeee I know but it's not the size that counts right? I'd reorganize the information box, it looks wierd to me with expressions getting shorter with each line ... I don't like information boxes that have all their text lenghts all over the place. I prefer wide to short, I think it looks more organized that way. Double check the breadcrumb for you about us page ... 2x teh same expression with bad file name (hover) I don't get what your saying, sorry. Your footer text is extremely hard to read ... on purpose? it would make me wonder if you are hiding legal stuff there that you have to add but do not want me to see. Done, made a soft grey color like all the boxes. Consider centering the cat image on this page http://tsurishopjapan.com/index.php?cPath=48 I don't get what you mean? what's not centered? Just to add to the loading time issue. I use ADSL and the landing page took 36 seconds to load - far too long! My host (bluehost) has been really wonky lately so maybe it was from that? I'm trying to use imagemagic but are finding it to be quite troublesome. Ok folks thanks for all your opinions and many changes have been implemented. I don't like information boxes that have all their text lenghts all over the place. I prefer wide to short, I think it looks more organized that way. your choice - just my personal opinion after seeing 100s of online shops. Double check the breadcrumb for you about us page ... 2x teh same expression with bad file name (hover) I don't get what your saying, sorry. you do not see that the breadcrumb says Top ? Catalog ? About us ? About us that would be hard not to see. Even harder not to see that hovering over the first about us link goves you a correct URL: http://tsurishopjapan.com/about_us.php but hovering aover the second one gives your this nirvana URL: http://tsurishopjapan.com/FILENAME_About_us I can only assume you have not even looked. Your footer text is extremely hard to read ... on purpose? it would make me wonder if you are hiding legal stuff there that you have to add but do not want me to see. Done, made a soft grey color like all the boxes. Well, that was not the best choice. The deep red anchored the page connecting header with footer. Surely you understood that changing the footer text color would have done? Consider centering the cat image on this pagehttp://tsurishopjapan.com/index.php?cPath=48 I don't get what you mean? what's not centered? ehmmmmmmmmmmmm the cat image. There are 3 images on that page, and only 1 is a cat image. 2 are subcat images. The text on the cat image says "lures" if you prefer it spelled out. You omitted the category info next to that image and this gives the page a very unbalanced look. From your last few statements, I have to assume though that you wanted it that way. So be it. I won't comment any more ... You category image looks still off, my comment was completely independent of what image you are showing. As there is no title, the (now exchanged) image should be centered. white is fine for the footer you need to fix your box corners, some are rounded, randomly.
