tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I want to get this layout on the website: http://shops.oscommerce.com/directory/goto,12883 Goto earrings and you see how the list drops down on the left column. I have this but also want the small pic view on the right in the body of the page: What type of Earrings are you shopping for? Right now mine just has a banner bar and above it I have text that says the same sub categories as on the left column. How to I fix this? Thanks
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 Yes all the small pics for different earrings. I have images for the sub cats but the do not show up like this.
matrix2223 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 If you have subcat images they should show up like that. You got a link
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 Nope it is on an internal test server now. I have it like this: Paintings/Action/Underwater So how do I fix this issue? Where is this data at to go look at? Thanks
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 I also noticed in Admin area when I click on a catolog item category or a sub category, I get this in the info box(this is a sub cat): Date Added: 08/04/2006 Last Modified: 08/04/2006 gb.jpg Subcategories: 0 Products: 0 It does not so the image here either. Arghhhh. Where is the file that controls this so I can check to see why it is not working.?? Thanks
matrix2223 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 is its a basic install or have you changed the product_listing.php file. Did you delete all of the products and categories before you added a few products I have noticed on other installs that when I did that it screwed a lot of things up such as what you are having.
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 I have added some mods to it. Not sure but I do not think I have touched the product_listing.php file. Never deleted all products. I just looked and do not have a product_listing.php file. Where would this be at?
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 I found it. Do you know what line of the code I sould look for or at? And what should be there? Thanks
matrix2223 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Honestly I dont remember, I dont use the stock product listing. Im sorry I cant help on that one.
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 What do you use? Do you have an example of what it looks like? Thanks
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 Ok, I just looked at it. So what mod are you using for this display? I uploaded a fresh file for mine and no change. :(
matrix2223 Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 honestly I dont remember that one either lol must be cause im tired. do a search in the conrtib section for product listing. in the contrib description it says that its like the format of the specials module. Sorry I couldnt have been more of a help, Eric
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 ok. I looked at the product_listing.php. and do not see anything wrong or missing. Is this the only file the controls the display of the image tumb nails in admin and catalog? Thanks
choosealogin Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 If you're talking about the category pictures that show on the center / upper half of the window, then those come from catalog/index.php ...but are you using a template? It could be quite different if that's the case.
tim_ver Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 Yes I am using a template. Also in admin area when you add a new sub category, then attach the image it shows it there the small pic. But for mine it just says the image name"test.jpg" and does not show it. I want to know how to find this code and fix the issue.? Would this be in categories.php in admin area? Is there a better mod to use in it's place? I just want to get this look working. Thanks
choosealogin Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 It's hard to tell without seeing the code and/or knowing what kind of template it is. Unfortunately, the most common templates have very few similarities to the original osC code, structure-wise. The cateogory image code could even be in your header.php file...I'm not sure. ...yes, you might start looking in categories.php, if you're unable to change the test.jpg category image in admin...it sounds like something is hard-coded in there.
tim_ver Posted August 5, 2006 Author Posted August 5, 2006 Ok so if it is Hard coded how do I find and fix it? I did find code for it in header and removed it and it still shows up. Ideas where else to look? Thanks
