How do I put links to specific products in e-mails/newsletter?

Everytime I have created a newsletter or sent out an e-mail or posted a link on a forumI end up with the same problem.

I put the linkto the product e.g http://jemcraftmemories.com/shop/product_i...7c2ff7e10fc30ec

and customers clik on that link to follow it to the shop, great.... however.... if two (or more) customers have followed the same link at the same time, they are given the same shopping basket so when they add things to their basket items appear that the other customer has added.

E.g. Customer 1 clicks link and browses store. Customer 2 clicks link and browses store. Customer adds a pen and an ink pad to their basket. Customer 2 adds 2 sheets of paper to their basket. On checking their basket customer 1 notices that there are two sheets of paper that they have niether looked at nor added and removes them. Customer 2 goes to checkout and notices that the two sheets of paper they added are not in their basket, but a pen and an ink pad that they haven't evenlooked at are there instead.

Please could someone (anyone!) give me the correct way to add links to an e-mail, newsletter and forum reply so that this doesn't happen?

Many thanks

Jemma

Hi Jemma

Your link should only have this:

http://jemcraftmemories.com/shop/product_i...roducts_id=3160

The information after it is different for every user as its a session ID. so isnt needed.

This should fix your problem

Many Thanks
