Iona Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 well Hi to all :D ....okay installation has gone fine and I have wondered round the site finding out information that I might need, but I'm afraid I'm still confused. I have used a bit of HTML, some CSS and have a PHPBB forum now I have a few questions that are puzzling me and that is are contributions like mods? what is BST concerning the osc?, can I add my Cafepress and Amazon affiliates so it its all self contained and the person buying isn't going to those particular site and what files do I need to alter to acheive this? then one last thing where do I change my banner. Thank you so much :D
♥Vger Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 To start off with osCommerce go to www.oscommerce.com and download the pdf document of the entire Knowledge Base for osCommerce 2.2 MS2 - it has lots of info you'll need. I wouldn't try doing anything else until you at least know the basics of how osCommerce works and how to edit files in osCommerce. Vger
Guest Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 well Hi to all :D ....okay installation has gone fine and I have wondered round the site finding out information that I might need, but I'm afraid I'm still confused. Thank you so much :D I am not sure about the other things, but the easiest way to see where the banner file is to click control it to see where the file resides(which image folder), and use your own logo with the same name(mine is in the admin/images/oscommerce.gif), rename your logo oscommerce.gif There may be a slicker way of doing it, like changing the template files, or something like that, but the easy way is that. By the way the mods are fun, however just keep backups of what you change, because like with phpBB, everytime they do an upgrade you have to add your mods back in the code after the upgrade. Fun Fun :D Doug
