Guest Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 not really a problem so much as a bother. i renamed and secured my admin folder using the control panel tools on my host. very easy to do by the way, with a bit of research on the board of course. :D however, the old path (i.e., www.mysite.com/admin) when entered, is still providing a login popup. how can a folder that doesn't exist remain secured? it still accepts my login and pass, but then directs me to a "page not found" error. again, this has no affect on functionality, but i'd like to remove if possible. it's kind of making me crazy trying to find it! any ideas?
brandoneilers Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Password protects operate from a .htaccess file. As long as the file is still on your server it will continue to work for its assigned path. Maybe its in your renamed admin folder. Just check all your .htaccess files.
Guest Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 i've checked the .htaccess file in both the top level and admin folders - what should i look for? nothing references the folder name "admin"
