A very clean site, in fact, too clean and sparse in my opinion. The gray text in the product descriptions is too light - I think that the idea was to emphasize the jewelery, but it really isn't strong and dominating and the overall effect is just sparseness. The Model-DJ-N17 necklace provides some contrast on the page, but most of the stuff, like the pendants, etc. is very muted. And, the props used with the necklaces provide some dimension to the items. Maybe you should use the same approach for the other stuff.

You don't have a breadcrumb trail, which I feel makes navigation more difficult. And, there seems to be no way to return to the home page without re-entering the home page url - a breadcrumb trail would fix that (other than clicking on the copyright notice at the bottom of the page).

I think that you really need an about us that explains who you are and where you are - "All of my jewelry pieces" is a phrase that you use. But, who are you? Are you the artisan, or do you buy from third world artisans and resell their stuff or do you represent artisans, etc. And, add a phone number and address.

I don't like shared ssl's and dedicated ones are relatively cheap, so you should get one. Probably the cost of a couple of pieces of jewelery.

The smart search is a nice idea - but I don't like searching choices that don't exist - like diamonds, emeralds, etc. And, it doesn't clear itself after its used, so if you make an unsuccessful search and then re-search, it does a cumulative unsuccessful search.

Your shipping calculator is very nice. And, the site is very fast. And, most of the photos are good. Very good start.

I think the clean layout and design is fantastic, your header image could do with some optimisation though, the sweeping curves look very very pixellated.

I haven't had much time to look through the whole site, but I'll definately be back for a longer look later. If customers think the same thing, then you are already off to a good start.

Great site. Clean, but the navigation almost seems bare, compared to what I expect. Maybe it needs a little box / separation around the categories? Anyone else find it odd? It may just be me.

How do I get home? No home button, the logo doesn't link! I'm LOST! Help....

I am on AOL dialup and I never know what to do with myself on fast loading sites. I feel like I'm in a dream about having DSL. Your site loads THAT fast. Thank you!!!!

I agree, that something just isn't giving justice to your product images. I believe there is a contribution (or perhaps a thread in tips and tricks forum here) about putting a border around images. Or perhaps putting in a background color via the CSS. *shrugs* Just needs something to contrast the background of hte product pics and the background of the page.

Yes, you need a navigation trail of some kind.

Also, your contact us page needs company address, phone number, alternate email addys, hours of operation, etc.

Great product pics and descriptions.

I also agree that you need something personal about you/your company - what makes your company and products so special that I must buy from you. You need to market your company as much as your products.

You should also put a but more blurb on your main page. More blurb with keywords = better SEO.

Great looking site!

I like you site and agree with tastar's post.

About SSL i noticed you can use https://www.dj-jewels.com/ insteed of https://dj-jewels.hostexcellence.com/

Your ssl issue is one of 2 things. You have a shared ssl. You should really have your own. Or it may be due to the Paypal image coming from outside your site. Save a Paypal seal in your image file and link it to there. If you still have ssl issues check out your catalog/includes/configure.php file and see what your ssl settings are for you catalog.

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'https://www.yoursite.com/'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.yoursite.com/'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

I had to ssl my whole site to secrue accounts, checkout and cart.
