MSatterwhite
I'm pretty sure I'm missing something obvious. I've got the banner manager. I see how to enter the data for a banner and how to add groups. What I don't see is how to specify where the banner appears. Would really appreciate it if one of you experts would answer a couple of questions: (1) After I enter the data for the banner, how do I tell OSCommerce where to put it. What category, etc. (2) How do I specify a specific banner rather than a randomly selected one. Thanks in advance ---Michael

Basically the default displays in the footer though you can duplicate the banner code to other locations on your site just changing the group name and then by using the group name you can chose which banner shows up in which location. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right?? Yes I am - but you just lost me. I've got two group names. I don't see anything to say which group displays where. Are you saying that both groups will display in the footer on every page? Is there a way to tell the system that I want banner 1 to display when the user is looking at pesticides and banner 2 to display when the user is looking at equipment? How would that be done? I do appreciate your help - and all who take the time to reply. Thanks much

Thanks much If you look at the banner code in the includes/footer.php file you will see the group name (in the default install it is 468x50) You could change the group name to bottom and then copy the code and paste it in the header of your site and change the group name to top. In the osC banner manager you could then assign some banners to top and some to bottom. The banner manager that comes with osC is pretty limited and not really setup for what you are looking for. I beleive there is a contribution that beefs it up some but you may need to get a stand alone banner manager. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Either that or write one At this moment, though, I need to understand my starting point. Thanks much
