bins
I m a bit of a noob, but managed to set up a store using the core files and several contributions (what a great family OSCers are!). There is one thing I cant work out (which is probably obvious). I the UK, if we send some locally, we have to charge sales tax/VAT (at the relevant rate, e.g. 17.5%). If we send outside the UK, we do not charge VAT. We have 4 tax rates: Zero rated - 0% reduced - 5% Full - 17% exempt - 0% (all of these are set up on my system) How can I make the invoice payments system recognise whether tax in chargeable or not i.e.: if delivery is UK - charge relevant item tax if outside UK - exempt (or 0%) (note - this is destination driven, not invoice) I have searched the forems etc, but cant find anything releveant - there must be a simple solution I'm missing! I am using the Royal Mail Postage contrib, if this helps. Thans in advance. Paul
Guest
This is determined by tax zones. You should have one tax zone that covers the UK. So if you goto your osc admin->Location Taxes->Tax Zones You could add entries to set the UK beneath a tax folder. Then in the Tax Rates you specify the tax rate (the vat in your case) for your tax class. Then when a customer logs in depending on the delivery location he specified he will see the appropriate tax rate
