What's over-riding my stylesheet?

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have an idea where I should start looking to figure out what is over riding my stylesheet? None of the changes I make to the stylesheet are reflected in my site, so I'm guessing I've done something to over ride it, but I've looked through many of my pages and I can't find anything.

Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have a template system installed?

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

I've removed the Simple Template System since I don't use it but that hasn't solved the problem. Changes to the stylesheet still aren't reflected in the pages.

Any other ideas? Anyone?

Install Firefox, and get the Firebug extension for it. (Sorry for being too lazy to give you links -- google is your friend.) This will allow you to inspect the elements of the page you are interested in, and tell you exactly what style rules are being applied to them, and what file(s) they're coming from.

The Web Developer toolbar, also excellent and recommended, will also allow you to do this in a slightly different way. It will also allow you to edit your CSS and see the results in realtime.

I don't prefer Firefox for browsing, but for web development it has become quite indispensable...

I say not to you, "backup your files before you change them." I say, rather, "use Subversion, and never worry about ruining your files again."
