mufcred Posted July 28, 2006 Share Posted July 28, 2006 Ok... before I continue I am new to the osCOmmerce environment. I am trying to set up a new shop using a template that i downloaded. I have installed osCommerce onto my webspace successfully. After the installation i clicked on administration tools, and the page was blank. I checked the source of the admin/index.php file, and it contained '<html><body></body></html>'It is completely empty... what am i doing wrong. I have searched far and wide for an answer to this question, the closest i got was that it could be a problem with a binary upload. I am not sure how i uploaded it, apart from the fact i used dreamweaver. Do you think i need to do a clean install, or will that not make a difference ?.. I am now a little worried because my admin page is not password protected. How do i make sure that i have to enter my password to enter the admin section of my site ? I have bought a templatemonster template, and I changed the PSD file and uploaded the new slices, but the original products on the mainpage remained without being replaced. 2. How/where can I edit my privacy policy? When I click on the privacy policy link on my shop at the moment i get the following message 'Put here your Privacy Notice information.' 3. How do i change the title of my shop, so that the iExplorer title says 'My shop name' instead of the default 'osCommerce'? 4. Although I have not edited the entire catalogue to feature my own products, I am using the products which were supplied with the template. When I click on the 'buy' button it takes me to a blank page rather than to my shopping cart. When I click the back button and then click on the shopping cart button, my choices were in fact added to the cart, why is the browser not being directed to the page automatically? 5. http://www........com/shop/checkout_shipping.php is also blank? 6. My contact form works (you can send a message and I will receive it in my inbox) however once you submit a message it takes you to a blank page, how do i insert a confirmation page after a user has submitted a contact me enquiry? I appreciate that there are a lot of question in one here. I hope that someone will be able to help me, I am sure to some of you experts they are all stupid little settings that I have failed to notice in my setup.. Thanks for your sympathy in advance!
