tactics
Quick question: I want to disable online ordering in my store for the time being while I get all the bugs worked out with shipping, etc. I still want people to be able to browse the store and look at the items, just not add them to their cart. I thought there was an easy way to do this, but can't remember how. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated. Thanks, Dean

tactics
This? http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4193 I'll check that out. But from the sound of it, it still allows people to add things to a cart, just not place the order. What I'm after is just completely disabling the add to cart button and product options altogether. I thought at one point I saw an option in the osc admin that said something like "allow ordering?", but I can't seem to locate it now.

rabbitseffort
why not use a down for maintenance that excludes your IP during repairs? This way the customers easily understand why they cant use the shop for a few hours "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. rabbitseffort
you didnt say you needed them to be able to call you or that would have made sense--I still contend it makes more sense and is less modding to use a down for maintenance, plus on the down for maintenance page you can include a phone for them to call while you are down, but whatever suits you--good luck "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer.
