You can get SSL from any place. http://whatis.bitpipe.com/olist/SSL-VPN.html is one resource, but be careful. Cheap SSLs (under 50 bucks) are often worthless if you want to have a professional, respectable company image. Another way is to go into Internet Explorer, tools/internet options/content/certificates, and click the "trust root certification authorities" and view the list of reputable companies. Do google searches. Make sure you get an SSL that is compatible with all modern browers (netscape, mozilla, IE, etc.), and I'd prefer one that shows the lock in the bottom part of the screen. If you're with a host, you'll have to pay your host to install it. Pay them first, and they'll give you a CSR key. When you find a company to purchase the SSL from, you will have to submit this CSR key to them. They'll then e-mail you your SSL Certificate back, and you'll have to give this Certificate back to your host so they'll finish the installation. So (1) tell your hosting company you want SSL and tell them whether you want it on http://mydomain.com or http://www.mydomain.com. Pay them. (2) Get their CSR key. (3) Find a reputable SSL providor via a google search or whatever, and tell them you want to purchase an SSL compatible with all modern browsers that will put a lock icon on the bottom of the web browser. Then (4) Buy from them, give them the CSR your host provided you, and they'll give you an SSL cert. Then (5) Take the SSL cert, and give that back to the host. Then (6) all you have to do is alter your cataloge/include/configure.php file and you'll have SSL.

As far as putting a product on your home page, I would just go to your admin tool, and click "languages", then "define". This will take you to the list of files you can edit right there. Click index.php and put a picture of the product you wanna have there. Then link that to the actual product_info page it's associated with. Good luck,
