djfoxx
I would like to know if you have to make tax rates for each of the 50 states? Also if you need to do them for other countries.
Guest
last i heard, it's illegal to charge tax for which a state/country you don't have the business. wherever your business resides (in a state, for example) you charge tax for that state only. You will want to be careful when it comes to taxes in Hawaii. As the customer is not responsible for the taxes, the business is. If you are doing business in Hawaii, IE, selling to a Hawaii customer. You as a business need a Hawaii excise tax license. You are responsible for the 4.166 tax rate, not the customer. You may pass this rate to the customer as the law allows this. The fines are very stiff if caught.
